FEM Model Calibration of Sports Arena Stand, Using Monitoring Data
Abstract
The paper describes a stepwise procedure to dovetail Finite Element Method (FEM) model data with data of monitoring the Ice Sports Arena vibrations in the city of Omsk (Russia). This procedure consists of 4 steps: data domain selection, modal parameters identification, objective function selection and optimization procedure. Natural frequencies of the structure (frequency-domain) were chosen to calibrate FEM model for one section of arena stand (further “Standâ€). Frequencydomain was selected because natural frequencies were used to assess structural health of the stand and the FEM model of this structure should have the same data format as the result. More adequate mathematical model of Stand was obtained as a result of FEM model calibration procedure.
