Evaluation of the SDDLV Method for Damage Detection on a Full-Scale Highway Sign Support Truss
Abstract
Structural health monitoring (SHM) and damage detection have drawn increased attention in Civil Engineering community as our deteriorating infrastructure would benefit from monitoring systems to optimally allocate resources for repair and replacement. Effective and reliable SHM techniques have been investigated by many researchers for different types of civil infrastructures. In this study, a stochastic dynamic damage locating vector (SDDLV) method for damage detection on a fullscale highway sign support truss is evaluated. Different damage scenarios are created on the numerical model of this structure. The performance of SDDLV for damage detection on this type structure is discussed.
